Best way to gather feedback via selectors, Google docs spreadsheet (since it can be published as a webpage, shared, keeps a revision history, can email all collaborators, have rss feeds for updates, and more) and linked from LibGuides.

Cathy's Janis Challenge was talking about retrospectively converting the paper holdings for the entire state of Florida. Idea is to join OCA (Open Content Alliance) and to try to set up a scanning facility through the state and OCA. Cathy asked the Dean, who called OCA, and they explained that the scanning facilities on average have 10 high speed scanners, staffed by 25 people full time, producing 1million pages a month, and it costs 100,000 a month to run it. OCA has a facility in Boston and they have room, and we can send to them to build into an OCA facility in the south.

Cathy is sending stuff to Boston to start! The Dean has allocated 7,000 to fund this, and the cost is 10cents a page, and we're hoping to send more skinny books for the test. Cathy also talked to the Pres Librarian at Yukon and he's affiliated with the Boston OCA unit, and it makes sense that the pres dept is in charge of this. Copyright is an issue, so sending everything non-copyright, and Cathy is talking to Lori D. and Angela about copyright for materials that appear to be in copyright.

Delonda's overview of the brittle books staffguides pages. Laurie will email the watercooler list about Google Docs with the new google apps for students. Made google doc files for the policies--in-development and shared those with all in the group with working gdocs account. After done with this phase/chunk, we may present at a cross divisional meeting. Once the selector has looked at the book and decided to retain, we find an exact/acceptable match, that link is added to the catalog, do we keep the brittle pages or do we through them away. Based on Ben's group's 19 recommendations, they will take any format, but Cathy is trying to add that materials in pieces need to be boxed/foldered. Same issue is going on with agriculture docs, because some of the documents are now online and UF has the only copies, but many are old and the only copies are here.
